Heading south on the way into town there is a long straight stretch that is mostly all pasture.
Months ago the county marked it off and started working on it.
After a while it became evident that they were developing a wetlands area.
Adding mulch and planting 100's of little trees or bushes of some kind.
I think you can see them a little better in the green area here.
Then adding piles of logs and brush.

This is a great idea and I do hope that the critters find this area.
ReplyDeleteHope you have lots of animals to take photos of. Have a good day. Are you getting some warmer temps?
ReplyDeleteOh, they're doing something similar near me! I hope yours attracts all kinds of cool wildlife and birds. Maybe you can sit and get more great photos.
ReplyDeleteI think that is wonderful of them to do that. It will be fascinating to watch it come to life Linda.
ReplyDeleteThat is so great! It's looking really pretty. I was wondering if you're developing wetlands in your own yard? :) We just had so much hail the ground was white.
ReplyDeleteYou will soon have plenty of interesting flora and fauna to take photos of. I am guessing you don't have the mosquito problem there like we do here? They will tote me off if I don't coat myself with repellant
ReplyDeleteHi RG,
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful. It is great that your community would take this on.

Wow what a great idea the county had!
ReplyDeleteCreating a habitat is a wonderful idea. Hope it becomes home to all sorts of wildlife.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that our government has recognized certain sites, like wetlands that should be left alone and allowed to support the habitats that live there. Hooray. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful project being developed. I look forward to seeing the end result. I hope you will have an opportunity to see wildlife very soon!
ReplyDeleteOh a wetlands area will bring you more birds! I bet you are going to really enjoy this spot as it matures. Cheers, Jenni
ReplyDeleteit's nice to see something being built...instead of removed!
