Welcome

I'm so glad you came by. I hope I'll be able to keep things interesting so you'll want to come back for a visit - I love the company!

I have many flowers I will be showing pictures of and a lot of critters that come around looking for a handout. But they give as much as they take since they're so much fun to watch. I always try to have my camera handy hoping for a shot better than the last one.

Daylilies At Something New Gardens

Last week I went to the open house of Something New Gardens which specializes in Daylilies. Linda has over 550 named varieties and what she enjoys most is hybridizing.

I think I had expected to see rows and rows of Daylilies so I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up to a beautiful yard full of all kinds of flowers.

I’m just going to be showing flowers and not naming them as it’s so hard for me to carry the camera and try to take notes also.

At the end of the post there will be a link to the Daylily garden website where you can look through her catalog with lots of pictures and the names of each one.

Is this a happy picture or what? I think it's my favorite of all the pictures I took that day.
The pond is deep enough that they don't have to worry about preditors.

This Daylily is a beauty.

I just love this little guy and his dog fishing.
A Begonia planted upside down - what a great conversation piece.
If you’d like to see more of the varieties of Daylilies they have click on Something New Gardens. She has a catalog just loaded with all of the different varieties that they carry.

  3. Hello Rsin Gardener, I enjoyed touring Something New Gardens with you. I like the name. I purchased several daylilies from a similar garden in PA. Unfortunately, the owner retired and I really miss those visits. You didn't say if you bought any flowers on your tour. I don't think you can have too many daylilies. Pam x

  6. What a beautiful garden! It's lovely to see them mixed in with other flowers, so you have a good idea what they look good with and how tall they really are.. sometimes that is hard to imagine when you just see them in pots or planted in rows.
