A Vase For Every Bouquet

I thought I'd do a post on the variety of vases I have. Not because they are so beautiful but because I just keeping getting more. I'll start with the ones I have for giving a bouquet to a friend and not needing to ask for my vase back - and save the best for last.

These are pretty plain but I can pick them up inexpensively and when giving a bouquet to someone I don't need to have it back. Some are plastic, some are bottles and there are some glass ones too. A couple didn't make it into the picture like the neat clear plastic cut glass vase. It looks just like cut glass until you touch it.
The blues and cobalts that I like to use for our bouquets here at the house.
A variety of colors, shapes and sizes.
Some crackled vases either from being vintage or just made to look that way. The pitcher is yellow crackle glass and I'm really not sure if it's old or not.
A couple of vintage decorator pieces. The smaller one from West Germany has built in holes to place flowers in and arrange.
Now for my personal favorites that will never be used to hold flowers but they are vases. I have a small collection of vintage head vases that I just adore.
My daughter thought I needed a 'body' vase to go with all of my head vases. How cute is that?
And last a bouquet that Bob picked to take to Mom on Father's Day. With the whole family over to see Dad he thought she needed a bit of extra attention with all she is going through right now with my Father being sick. She just loved it and especially knowing that Bob picked and arranged it just for her.

WOW! Those little head vases sell for an arm & leg anymore. Beautiful clusters of vases. TTFN ~ Marydon

Love the body vase, and the cobalt ones too. Some of my favourite vases are retro/vintage single serve glass pop bottles. I stick a single bloom in one, and sometimes tint the water with food colouring too.

Such a beautifully put together bouquet. I see you have a thing for vases. And a nice collection you have going there. Its fun to pick up stuff like that at yard sales and flea markets.

Wow, what a gorgeous collection of vases. I'm sure I've got lots around too, just never took the time to put them all together.

Bob did a wonderful job on that bouquet. It's gorgeous!

I too have a large collection of vases of all kinds. Now if I would just go out and cut some flowers more often it would be perfect! I have a tendency to cut bouquets for other people but not our house!

That is so funny! I have many of the exact same ones or similar. No vintage head vases though. I've never even seen them before. Too cool!

Great idea to have lots of vases so you don't have to worry about getting them back. I love the head ones!
What a pretty bouquet your husband picked, I bet your Mom did love them.

You have a wonderful collection Rain Gardener. I never keep that many around but I can see how it would be useful. Once I get so many, I call our florist and take them in to be "recycled." My favorites are your head ones too. I've never seen any of those.

Marydon, Yah they're pretty spendy, I hadn't checked in ages but you're right - they're going nuts!

Jackie, thank you. WoW that sounds neat to do them that way.

Cathy, thanks, I thought it was so cute of her to do that.

Becca, thanks I'll tell him you said that. I'm a garage, estate sale finatic.

Thanks Tootsie I've tried to get it varied.

Linda, thank you. I'll bet you do being a gardener and a crafter.

Sweet Bay, ah thanks I'll tell him you said that.

Sheila, You need to cut some for you to enjoy in your house too.

Tina, that is funny. The headvases are probably from the 50s and 80s. They're still very popular - collecting the vintage ones that is. They're getting a bit too spendy for me anymore.

Catherine, Thank you. I'll tell Bob everyone liked his bouquet. His are better than mine and he always picks me one.

Kathleen, thanks. I never thought about taking them back, I guess cause I'm picking them up. ;-) I'm surprises the people who haven't seen the headvases. I guess being an antique dealer is when I found them. Not sure.

I love them all! The flowers make the vase, so it doesn't much matter what the vase looks like! A ladt in my garden club collects thos head vases, I am certain that she has over 100! I had never seen them until I went to her house!

You have a wonderful collection of vases. I have the hardest time finding glass ones in dark green in just the right size for large bouquets. Still looking! ~~Rhonda

Very pretty! I can't begin to imagine where you store them all but how nice to have a selection to choose from. A vase for every occasion, for sure!
